Track Name: There Is No Hourglass, Only Sand
This body that I inhabit seems to feel like my true self
But that ain’t right, no that ain’t right
I never met the landlord cause we both keep to ourselves
But you know what I heard? I heard he is somethin’ else
My roommates won’t keep quiet always singing in my head
One day we’ll get evicted and the songs will come to an end
But I’ll find a new life, yeah cause I was just renting

I've been feelin' like a puzzle piece with edges that have worn away
Gotta space to fill, but I can easily slip away
Everyone around me seems to know how to play the game
So what's the matter with me? Why can't I do the same?
Tryin' to make a record of the thoughts streaming through my head
Words only work if they are said
But the younger generation doesn't understand a word I say
So what's the use? They only speak in acronyms

I’ve been searching for some meaning I can feel deep within my bones
It is lost to me, but somehow the marrow knows
I should probably surrender and accept who and what I am
Just a drop in a pool, but I make the pool less shallow
So just sit back, relax, have a drink with me old boy
To the end of the world, to the end of the world
It’s gonna be a while til’ we all meet up again
Cause there ain’t no hourglass, no, there is only sand
Track Name: Trespassers
Maria take my hand as we cross this desert land and may god be with
us to the promised land
Knowing not what will come beneath the warm Sonoran sun, maybe
peace maybe death maybe both
Maria don’t look home, the only place we’ve ever known, close your eyes
and see that we are not alone
I don’t know which is worse repeating the same sad verse, or
abandoning the old familiar song
God show us the place where we belong

You drew a line on paper neighbor, but the boundaries they mean
nothing to the soul

Smell of blood in the sand from the cartel’s reprimands, oh the
ground it aches and moans it aches and moans
Southern wind tells a tale with a liquor-scented gale that says you are
not welcome turn around and run
Get off my property or I’ll get my gun

You drew a line on paper neighbor, but you can’t control the
migration of a soul

Maria take my hand as we cross the Rio Grande, the north expanse is
what my fathers called homeland
Fleeing south from the war, now fleeing north from the outlaws, the
line has shifted several times within the sand
I would love for them to see their callous hypocrisy, squatters sitting
on my old man’s property
You don’t own what you steal, let alone your neighbor’s yield. We are
brothers we are brothers we are

I am you, you are me, we’re one fucked up family
All God’s children running violently amuck
I think it’s time for all God’s children to grow up
Track Name: A Plot in Falmouth
On a ship that sailed from Liverpool to Maine
Freddy with his dream in tow had plans all arranged
The Captain’s log said 1895, the date
Freddy brought his wife, a Swedish dame
Bertha had three children gave them good Christian names
But a name is not enough to keep the dark away

If the dead had mouths oh what they would say
Oh corpse, sing it loud now

Well the best laid plans of mice and men may change
Bertha was declared to be completely deranged
Away to the asylum where she counts the days
Freddy bought a farm and moved away
Trying to outrun the devil, but the devil had his way
Cause little Al inherited his mother’s pain

If the dead had mouths oh what they would say
Oh corpse, sing it loud now

Well the gods threw back their heads and laughed insane
Freddy died a lonely man his family estranged
The coroner’s report was put safely away
The dream has died and long since decayed
A shady plot in Falmouth is what keeps the remains
A family reunion in a shallow grave

If the dead had mouths oh what they would say
Oh corpse, sing it loud now
Track Name: This Is the End of Our Correspondence
It’s in the past
So please don’t ask
She’s not the same
But I know her real name
If I’m a saint
Where’s my prize?
And the tragedy
They pretended I was family, and I believed

Don’t cry, believe me now your symptoms will subside
Girl, and everything is gonna be alright, yeah
No you’re not gonna die not gonna die, no
This too shall pass and then you’ll see I’m right, yeah
Oh how right I was in saying that this too shall pass
This too shall pass
This too shall pass

Though you try
You can’t relate
And though she’s alive
It really feels like she died

Don’t cry, it’s always darkest right before the dawn
Girl, and that which does not kill you makes you strong
Yeah, be careful of the tubing in your arms
Now, and maybe there’s a reason for this all
Reasons for it all don’t quite make sense to me
Now where is she
Now where is she

And the image is burned into my head
You squirming in pain in a hospital bed
Now someone else is in my stead
You may as well be dead

And you asked me if I thought you’d die
I ran from the room to hide my eyes
Now I’m alone to wonder why
Why, why, why did you lie?
You may as well have died

Though it appears there’s an end to this story
We’re caught in a sphere where the lines have no boundary
Time for us to see that there is no break from you to me
Oh the tape will run again you’ll see
And all of this will come right back around
We will repeat

I’ve been searching for some meaning I can feel deep within my bones
It is lost to me, but somehow the marrow knows
